Marine Finfish Production and Research Centre,
Tanjong. Demong, Terengganu.

The Centre was established in 1983 as the Finfish/Prawn Fry Production Facility Centre of the Extension  Division, Department of Fisheries. However, through the reorganisation exercise in 1992 it was placed under the Research Branch. Its main objective is to carry out research on the development of hatchery technology for commercially important marine species for aquaculture.

Brackishwater Aquaculture Research Centre, Gelang Patah, Johor.

The first phase of the Centre began operation in 1978 whenwith tidal pond system facilities was  installed. However the Centre has undergone rapid expansion whereby modern pond facilities were constructed and began operation in 1997. The main objective of the Centre is to undertake research on all aspects of brackish water fish/marine prawn culture.

Freshwater Fisheries Research Centre,
Batu Berendam, Melaka.

The Centre was officially opened on 21st August 1957 under the Commonwealth Fund. The main objective then was to serve the needs of all Tropical Commonwealth countries  in the field of freshwater fish culture. The Centre was then handed over  to the Malaysian Government in 1981 and managed by MARDI.

. In 1984 it was handed to the Department and became a centre under the Fisheries Research Institute and renamed FFRC. Its main objective is to carry out research on all aspects of freshwater fisheries and aquaculture.
