The Marine Fishery Resources Development and Management Department (MFRDMD) located in Chendering, Terengganu, is the fourth department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Centre (SEAFDEC). The general objective is to provide assistance to SEAFDEC Member Countries in the development and management of the Marine Fishery Resources in the Southeast Asian Region.

The GEF/UNDP/IMO Regional Programme for the Prevention and Management of Marine Pollution in the East Asian Seas has compiled a Directory of Institutions involved in Coastal and Marine Environment Management and Research in the East Asia Seas. It aims to facilitate communication and exchange of information among institutions and individuals who share the same concern and commitment to the protection and management of coastal and marine resources for East Asian Seas. The directory can be accessed in the regional Programmes web site.

This site is prepared by the Fisheries Department of the FAO, Regional Office of Asia and the Pacific, Bangkok, Thailand and by the Fish Utilization and Marketing Service of the FAO, Rome, Italy. It was initially set up with support from the European Union through the Life Sciences and Technologies for Developing Countries 3.
